Fading Class with Jay the Barber

On January 27th our students had the opportunity to take a hands on class with renowned fading expert; Jay the Barber. We at PB think continuing education is so key to the success of our students and we offer a variety of classes that students can participate. We provided the students with a set of Andis clippers and trimmers and the students provided their own model to make the experience more comfortable for them.

I had a chance to catch up with several of the students who took the course and here's what they had to say:

Junior students Kiersten Scargill and Danielle Puzzutiello- "We both learned a lot about fading men’s hair today.  Practicing on a live person gave us the opportunity to perform the technique in a real-life setting as well. At first, we were a little nervous about working on a real client, but after applying the techniques that we learned, it definitely built our confidence to work on future clients."

Senior Student Louis Clarke- " Yesterdays advanced fading class with Jay the Barber was AWESOME! The way he teaches you how to adjust the level on your clippers to make the guards go into each other made fading effortless. Everyone had their models looking cleanly blended by the end of the class. Whoever missed the opportunity to see him this time should surely get a spot in the next class when he comes back!"
Louis was really excited for jay to see his work

Junior Student Kelli Lane- "I thought it was a lot easier to do a fade after watching his demonstration, I liked how simple he made it seem. I learned how to reduce the bulk during blending which is really important and something I have struggled with. I felt more comfortable with him walk around during the class to help us all individually He was available for all of our questions and concerns and very patient with us."

We are so happy that so many of our students enjoyed this class and we really enjoyed having Jay here. For more information on our continuing education please visit our website.
